Important installation note
After installing and activating the theme, you need to navigate to Settings > Permalinks and click on the ââ¬ÅSave Changesââ¬Â button, even if you havenââ¬â¢t made any changes. This is to register the custom post types used in the theme.
You also need to navigate to Settings > Reading and set front page to display « Your latest posts » if you have previously had a static page as your front page.
Homepage Overview
The homepage consists of a homepage slider, intro text, an optional donation module, and a widgetized sidebar region.
Setup Featured Slider
The Saving Grace home page featured area pulls the custom « slides » post type. The number of slides is set under the « Homepage Slider » theme option’s panel. You can set the animation speed, auto start and slide interval under the theme options.
Adding a slide
To add a slide simply follow these steps:
- Go to Slides > Add New.
- Type a title for the slide and complete all of the postââ¬â¢s body content.
- Add an image in the Custom Settings panel or Featured Image. The image dimensions must be 480x360px or bigger.
- Publish the slide.
Adding your intro text
The Saving GraceÃÂ « Intro » text on the home page can be simply added under the « Homepage » theme option’s panel in the WordPress backend.
Setup Blog
To add a Blog to the main navigation, simply follow these steps:
- Add a new Page in WordPress (Page -> Add New)
- Add a title to the page e.g. « Blog »
- Select the Blog page template in the Attributes panel on the right
- Publish your page!

Setup the Donation module
This theme includes a donation page template where charities and organisations can accept donations via PayPal. To add the donation page you need to follow these steps:
Add the Donate page and ÃÂ link to navigation
- Add a new Page in WordPress (Page -> Add New)
- Add a title to the page e.g. « Donate »
- Select the Donate page template in the Attributes panel on the right
- Publish your page!
Setting up the donation module
Navigate to the « Donate » theme option’s panel to set up your donation homepage module and the donation page template. All you need is an active PayPal account that you can take donations with. You’ll just be required to add the PayPal email address you linked to your account in the theme options.
For the donation button to appear on the home page in the slider region, and donation progress meter to appear across your site simply tick their corresponding checkboxes.
