How To

Setting up the sidebar video player and adding video posts

To add a video post to appear in the sidebar video player you need to add a new post, or edit and existing one, and navigate to the bottom of the post where “Rockstar Custom Settings” panel is.

Add an optional picture to your post for thumbnail view (if you have chosen to use the “Post Thumbnails” under the “Dynamic Images” section of theme option’s panel), and the embed code of the video, found on most streaming video sites. Don’t worry about resizing the video embed code’s width and height as this will be done automatically.

To add the Video Player to the sidebar navigate to Appearance > Widgets and then add the “Woo – Latest Video” widget to the sidebar. Then add a tag the videos must be pulled from. In our demo we tagged the post with “video” and then used this tag in the widget.

Adding adverts to the sidebar

Adding adverts to the sidebar is a 2 part process. Firstly, you need to open up your theme option’s panel and navigate to the “Ads – Sidebar Widget (125×125 pixels)”. There you can add the web addresses of the images you want to display as adverts and can add a link location that the advert must take you to when clicked on. You can also rotate the banners so they don’t appear in the same location every time.

You then need to go to Appearance > Widgets and add the “Woo – Ads 125 x 125” widget to the sidebar. In the widget settings you can specify how many adverts to display, with a maximum of 4 being allowed.

Adding content to the about module

The about section in the header is a simple module that requires you to enter your “About You” description in the theme option’s panel. Some html is allowed in this description, as is evident in the demo example below.
